I've got both a single blade Case Coca Cola Red bone single blade Peanut an old 70s Queen 2 blade Peanut in faux Winterbottom bone. I think I prefer the single blade Case over the 2 blade Queen, I think the small pen blade is not really needed and the summit blade construction makes for a slimmer profile and a simpler knife resulting in lower mnfg costs.

So what say you cult members of the Order of the Peanut, 1 or 2 blades on your nut?

I've never handled a single blade Peanut, so can't say for sure. Though I am used to the 2-blade and have grown to like 2-blade jacks anymore these days. But I do still have an affinity for single blade traditional folders, so I'd not be shocked if I handled one and liked it!

I only have two Peanuts (and a Pemberton) and love them as my #2 EDC

Voted 2 blade because the Peanut is small enough that the extra thickness doesn't bother me (it's a plus for grip actually) & it's good to have an extra blade.
Anything bigger than a Peanut though & I prefer a single blade for less bulk in pocket.

I voted 2 blade. On a larger blade I like a single bladed knife mainly because I also carry a smaller knife. The secondary blade comes in handy for the dirty work such as scraping or just cutting nasty stuff.

Why two?
Because that is what I have

I've never seen a factory single blade peanut in person, but I did modify one for my dad and made it a single. I must say, and I may be biased because I modified it, but I did like it a lot. I'll try to find a pic of it somewhere.

I use the pen blade on mine loads! I find the stout tip really useful and the tip on the queen peanut is virtually a sheepsfoot, which is extremely useful.

Like many before me, I've never handled a single blade peanut. I'm sure I'd love it though...I do find myself using the pen blade on my nut almost more than the clip though. I use it for all the dirty tasks, and use the clip primarily for food and letters. I'd love to try a single blade nut one day though...

One blade is okay, but in a jack I really prefer two blades. Just more useful on a day to day basis.

I like them both but when I carry it is mostly the 2 Blade just in case my main blade gets just a bit on the dull side.!**
99% of the time 2 Blade.*

I don't own a Peanut anymore, but I carried mine for some time (before giving it away to a better home :)) so I can throw in my two cents.
I find the two blades on a peanut too similar (in size and shape) to make me prefer it vs a single bladed version.
My idea of multibladed knives is having different blades (in shape and size) for different tasks...otherwise I'd rather stay single. Specifically in a peanut (clip/pen combo) I find the two bladed version a bit redundant.
Personal opinion, of course :)

Here's a bad kindle pic of the two I have, the 2 blade is the Queen, the single a Case Christmas Single blade with a Coca Cola shield.

For the older folks having arthritis issues the single blade seems to be the easiest to open and if you wanted to put an EO bitch in it, I think it would come out better than the 2 blade.

I don't have a single-blade Peanut. BUT, I've noticed I use the pen blade more often in my 2-blade Peanuts, than the primary clip blade. That's why I voted for the 2-blade. Don't think I'd ever see it, but if a single-blade Peanut were made with just the pen blade, I might actually like it a little more. :D

(This isn't to say I don't like clip blades; in fact, I especially love them in larger patterns, such as with a stockman.)

Not really a Peanut Cult member, but I do own one of each type - Case Peanut (two blades) and a Schrade 12OT (the single blade). I never carry the Case Peanut, but I do carry the Schrade 12OT - as small as the blade is, there is nothing smaller I would use regularly. OH

I don't carry a peanut often but I like the two blade version. The pen blade comes in handy for the really small tasks and the extra width (one or two blade is hardly noticeable in my pocket) added to the knife helps in getting a grip on it.

I have several single blade peanuts but two bladed ones make up the majority of my collection, I do have 3 and 4 bladed peanuts in the collection as well. I have around 230 peanuts currently but am always ready to acquire a few more when they become available!!
