I'm curious as to what knife or knives and related items forum members carry with them every single day (ESD). I'm not talking about sometimes, or when you think you'll need it. I'm talking about items you would feel naked without.

I'll make an exception on the "every single day" carry requirement if you leave behind some or all or your ESD items for upgraded equipment when moving out to complete specialized tasks, like chopping down a tree or hunting. Other than that, what do you folks feel is important enough to carry ESD?

I think it will be very interesting to see the difference between the number and variety of items owned and what is actually carried day to day. Also, geography and employment will most likely play a part in people's choices. If you carry a TOPS #111 or a Kuhkri ESD, your story could be really interesting!

I'll start. I live in a city and work as a photographer. On my person, every single day, is a Victorinox "Tinker" SAK, an AAA Mitylite flashlight and a Swiss-Tech mini-multitool. In my camera bag, I carry a Spyderco Military with serrated edge. In my car (somewhere in among all the other junk) is a Garcia Survival Knife along with maps of the area, matches, compass and a military angle-head flashlight. I own way too many (or so says my wife) other knives and related items, but this is what is with me every single day. How about you?

Well right now I always have my CRKT Carson design M-16 tanto W/flipper. That will change when my REAL Carson arrives, I can;t wait to carry it!! Though I will have to lay off the seriously abusive tasks I use it for now, I hate to say, but I am a flooring installer and have been know to use my knife to cut sanding screens and things like that with it in a pinch!! OOOOPSS!

Hi Hazardous,

I always have my Plain Halo 2, Leatherman Wave, Benchmade Stryker and usually have my Spyderco CF walker with me as well but not always.

Whenever I have money

I have my Emerson tanto with gold blade. (moneyclip)

I try to have a knife in each of my pockets.

John

It was my HALO II now I had to replace it with a HALO III! I had to modify the sheath as I actually like the HALO II sheath better. It was not hard and now I like it better.

Oh... I also have a blue Benchmade autospike in my briefcase and a Vaquero Grande in my glove box.

Later,
John

A small custom Elkins single blade with red micarta scales, A tinker SAK, a SpeedTech clipped to my back pocket.

I recently have a Wave on my belt. I also keep a stainless delica in my truck along with a Cold Steel SRK behind the seat.

I currently carry a Victorinox Electrician. This will change when I got my Delica and Endura. Unfortunately, I canNOT carry this daily, as I'm still in high scool. I feel naked without my school ring, a watch, and a comb. I also feel naked without my clothes, believe it or not.
I'm probably going to get some knives on New Year's Eve (at least 1), as that is when my friends and I have decided to get together to exchange Christmas (and Chuh-nookah) gifts. My birthday is mid-Jan, and I'll probably get the Benchmade 730 ASAP as a late present.

I carry a Wave and a Stryker all the time.

I suffered from severe knife withdrawal when I visited Washington DC on vacation with my family this past summer. The only thing I usually carried was a SAK. Everywhere we visited I had a surly Federal officer checking my camera for explosives. We went through so many metal detectors my kids no longer need a night light, they glow in the dark

M2 combo Stryker is with me everyday. I'm just waiting for my SIFU and Sebenza to arrive to accompany it.

Was my CQC-7, Currently, it is my CS Vaquero Grande--I call it my "Pocket-Khukuri" and my Boker red-bone Gentleman's Knife. Once I locate a Spyderrench at a decent price, I'm sure it'll be my next ESD. A picture of some of my other knives which were ESD at one time or another can be seen over on the Himalayan Imports forum under YVSA's topic:"First Impressions and mini review AK Bowie". Can you spot the Engnath's? These are some of my faves.

I have horses and also bale hay and straw for a farm near where I live. So daily I have a Gerber multi pliar, Its a must because we use a wire tie baler and a knife will not cut baling wire very easily
smile.gif
.Because the blades on the gerber don't get hair poppin sharp and I've been know to abuse them doing things like stripping wires with them, I also carry a delica half serrated in my back pocket. That way the pliars aren't in the way of getting it out.In the summer I also have a 4" homemade trapper knife in my front pocket to lend anyone I think will cut there fingers off with my delica before they understand what I mean by"push the button in while you close the blade"
smile.gif
In the winter I keep that in the pocket of my work coat. I use it in the morning before school to open bales of hay (tied with twine) and I've found that putting it in my jeans pocket on the way to the barn leads to it going to shcool with me

I have been carying a Pinnacle and a classic SAK daily. I have just added a small Sebenza in my left pocket but will be ordering a sheath from Gary Graley for it.

If it's not my Benchmade CQC7, it's my lg. Sebenza (always). CQC7 soon to be replaced by Spyderco Starmate.

Production Emerson CQC-7 bead-blasted spear point. For me, the best lefty-friendly knife I have ever handled, and I beat the crap out of it. I broke a tiny piece of the tip on a military deployment. I cannot pull it out of my pocket to get it replaced. I bought a new tanto CQC-7 dressed in black that I have yet to carry.

It is like that perfect pair of boots that you get broke in just right...

Small plain Sebenza. Does everything from opening boxes and cutting strapping to cleaining finger nails.

I carry my BM 710, and 330 everyday, except during school. Stupid "Zero-Tolerance". ::Grumbles::

Benchmade AFCK and Leatherman PST.

Funny, since I hardly ever use the blade on it, the PST is usually sharper than the AFCK and when I need an especially sharp blade, that's where I go.
