I'm gonna buy a new knife in a week or so, and I'm torn between the Spyderco Gayle Bradley, and the Bradley Alias I.

(for anyone not familiar with these knives, the name 'Bradley' being common to the two knives is purely coincidental, no relationship between them, as far as I know anyway)

Please make a clear vote for one of them, if you had to choose one, without considering price. Whichever knife gets more votes, I will buy, and post pics of.

Again, there is a relatively small price difference between these two knives, so that's not a factor for me in this purchase, just which knife you would take between the two.

Thanks everyone!!!

I have and like both, but if I could only pick one, I'd choose the Gayle Bradley with no hesitation whatsoever.

I prefer pretty much everything about the GB over the Alias I: F&F, ergos, steel (unless stain resistance is a major factor for you), blade shape, etc. (And again, I like my Alias I. But the GB is one of my favorite production knives of all time.)

As much as I like Spydercos, The Bradley Alias I is the one I'd choose.

It's really amazing to me how many people are calling the Gayle Bradley the best production folder ever. I think I have to get one, if for no other reason than to see what all the hype is about.

The Gayle Bradley has a steel that both holds and edge well and is tough, which means that they were able to grind it really thin without worrying about chipping. That, in turn, makes it an extremely good slicer, and not too difficult to sharpen. The fit and finish is excellent, and little perks like polished liner edges, carbon fiber handles, and a bushing pivot don't hurt either. You won't be disappointed if you choose it.

i dont like the look of the alias and love my GB, so guess that would be a no to the alias. Just imo the GB has looks, form, function and fit and finish, m4 steel. i guess its a homerun for spyderco, but i suppose every now and then comes a blade that gets to be iconic, i dont know if thats the GB but im betting it will be around for some time to come.

Well, the M4 on the gayle bradley would be a big plus in my book, but the looks and the liner lock is.. just not for me. At least not right now - I already got used to the look of the military - maybe i'll get one down the road... ;)
But I think frame locks are easier to operate for me and since I really like the look of the alias - I say Alias! :)

IIRC the GB was going for about 130 and the Alias for $210 - so that would be quite a difference from my point of view which could reverse this statement if I had to consider the pricing, too.
And another thought may be that the Alias is a clone/knock-off/inspired by the sebenza - but not a real sebenza.
I bought an Alias I and I like it but... I'm still dreaming a little bit about a small sebenza - because of the fit and finish, the tolerances and that you dont need to find a sweet spot for the pivot screw.

But in the end - I think i'll keep my BM707 in s30v and my 710HS - the axis lock is just a joy to use and play with. The other ones get some use, too but those 2 get into my pockets or waistband on a quite regular basis. :)
