Which custom knife maker has the best website? What about factory websites? Please include a link if you're the first to mention it.

Personally I think all factory sites are somewhat lacking. Unless you count Chris Reeve's shop as a factory.

As far as custom websites, I really dig Don Fogg's. http://dfoggknives.com/

It's well organized, the colors and fonts are subtle and pleasant. The photographs are beautiful. And it's full of helpful information, including many links to other craftsmen. The latter tells me this is a respected artist among his peers and that he is confident in his own talent. What do you think?

Hah! I'm tempted to ask the opposite question. That competition would be fierce!

Hey Mr. O'Young, did you forget the password for your web space?

But, anyway, Spyderco has made improvements lately.

We have the best site that these 'puter illiterate fingers could generate. It's simple, easy to find your way around and hopefully informative. Take a look if you have a couple minutes.

I am sure my website is not the best, but I am sure trying. I recently switched from free webhosting at angelfire.com to paid hosting. A decision I think will be good one. I also aquired a Domain Name ( www.griffithknives.com ), something I should have done long ago. And last night at 11pm-midnight, I added a Message Board to my site, and have already gotten quite a few posters to it. I am looking forward to seeing peoples votes for great sites. I will try and use these suggest sites as motivation, to improve mine.

Great Thread, thanks for starting it.

I have to vote for Don Fogg's page(s) if we are taking about knifemaker's web sites.

I really learned a lot from Don, both at his web site and at a show a couple years ago. He took the time to answer a Whole Bunch of ignorant questions, even After I told him I could not afford his work. He didn't seem to mind at all. He Does respond to email questions about the craft, and not only from buyers. I know. And his site is full of information for wannabe knife makers and Artists of all sorts. He even talks about how the information he discloses (including fundamental knifemaking economics) could Help his Competition.

How can you beat That for dedication to his Craft and the Art of knifemaking? Don Fogg is truly a Great Artist and incredible human being. Go look at what he has to say about the Art of Knives and knifemaking. You will Not be disappointed.

For more general information for collectors and an incredible selection of Great custom knives that you can have Right Now, try www.KnifeArt.com. I just Love Larry's taste in knives.

PS: I Still don't Own a Fogg knife. But I will someday!

I like to look at Arizona Custom Knives, Robertson Custom Cutlery, and Knifeart because I can see many different makers at one site.
