I think that anyone who spends some time on a knife forum becomes a snob to some degree. So yes, everyone = snobs

And I think it should stay in the name. I read an article where Loveless said his knives were Bench Made, and not customs because he only makes his own designs. Good point. And most people call them customs, along with many other hand/bench made knives that have zero customer input on the designs.

I also voted who cares.

Keith,
i keep waiting to hear the words .."April Fools!!"
But, its nowhere near April.

Don't do it! Dont change anything, it will ruin the whole world! .....

While on topic, I actully think "custom" should change to "custom & Garrsonized"

I refuse to vote until this is opted in.

My initial thought was that, yes, this portion of the forum seems to have some snobs, but upon further deliberation, I realized that there are actually less snobs in this section than in the Traditional forum. At least over here there are several maker's work you can own and still be a snob...on the traditional forum there is only one;)

To a degree, I'd say all of us collectors/accumulators/fanciers become snobs after a while:)

P.S. I haven't voted yet

David, it's just for fun. I can't make the decision to change the name of the forum, and it's had it's current name since day one, so it's probably staying the way it is.

As far as being snobs is concerned, I don't think this place has more than it's fair share. In fact, it actually has very few.

Was that for the benefit of us unuejumacated noobs who really don't know anything about the august and honorable hobby of custom (as opposed to handmade) knife collecting?:p;)
Must be an attempt at keeping the rift raft from crossing the tracks.

Thanks Keith!
I wonder, will indifference win? Is that a good sign?

All the best,

I voted no yes.

Sure we are snobs. None of us needs what we are passionate about. We enjoy these wonderful knives and as a rule the folks who make and collect them are of pretty high caliber.

It is OK to be snobbish (a little), but let's try to include all of us snobs and try to be open to as much as possible. :D.

Karl,

I think that some of those you refer to as "Snobs"
admitted to it by saying "yes" to this option.
The rest of the "Snobs" are not admitting to anything
and therefore I suppose voted for the last option... :)

I wonder if there is someone who can evaluate the
final results, if these are considered serious answers?

It might be fun...

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

It doesn't matter much one way or the other to me on either question. This forum is what it is. Changing the name won't make much difference, neither will admitting that there are snobs that hang out here.

I included the last option because I knew that there would be many people that wouldn't consider this to be of earth shattering importance.

Overall, I would say that the poll to this point shows that for the most part, folks are happy with the way things are and most don't think that the denizens of the custom knife forum are a bunch of snobs.

It is impossible to know how many of the people that have voted that they thought we are a bunch of snobs, consider this to be a problem.
