Hello all!

Today in the mail I got a polycarbonate (plastic) karambit trainer from www.karambit.com I thought I'd let you all know that this is a great piece of gear for $12. The trainer apepars quite tough and there are absolutely no sharp edges, corners, or whatnot on it. THe karambit trainer is quite smooth and fun to manipulate. I am not going to go into its uses and such here. But if you are looking for an inexpensive trainer, this one is a whopping $12. I think that this piece of gear is also goo dif you aren't sure if karambits are crap or great or what. FOr $12 you can get this trainer and play around a bit. You won't be out that much money and I bet it would sell on the for sale forums quickly.

Crayola,
I searched the site and just couldn't find it  Maybe I'm just slow tonight but can you point me in the general direction? I did find the journeyman and the aluminum trainer that I did like though :D

Crayola,

Glad you like the poly trainer. How do you find it when spinning with the ring? My guess is it is light with not much mass and was wondering what your thoughts were on this.

I have the aluminum trainer which I enjoy spinning while watching the tube. Gaining muscle memory with these trainers is almost a prerequisite to flipping a real one if you stand any chance at all of not getting bit. Even then, with myself as evidence, the journeyman has bitten me on the inside of the wrist.

Nasty puncture with the tip, we live and learn. More work on the trainers is in order for me.

Hello Brownie!

So far the light weight of this trainer hasn't posed too much of a problem. I have been putting this trainer in my pocket and carrying it wherever I go. It is so light you can forget that you have it! Whenever there is a few minutes downtime, I pull it out and flip, flip, flip!

Where the lightness is posing a bit of a problem (I think) is in horizontal manipulations. The trainer wants to slip off my knuckle and try to heat to the floor if I don't flip it fast enough. I believe that a real karambit wouldn't want to do this as much. However, I think that maybe the lightness in this sense could be good, as I cannot be lazy with horizontal flips with this trainer.
