Has anyone out there come across the polymer kerambit in Shomer- tech's catalogue? It is a fixed version of Emerson's folder, and runs around $30. Just looking for any more info or insights, thanks.

It's been discussed here before, try doing a search on Kelly Worden or DTL or impact kerambit. It can be a pretty damaging piece even in amateur's hands, nevermind capable hands like Worden's.

By the way, the Impact Kerambit has been around for quite a while, predates the "Emerson version" by several years.

I think $30 is at least twice what I paid for mine. (If you are talking about the Kelly Worden DTL Kerambit.)

woops. Sorry about that. I just saw "polymer kerambit" and assumed it was the Worden DTL.

I have one and i like it a lot, it is very light, eqasily carried and will definitely do severe damage to skin, but i don't think that it'll cut clothes.

Jonas, how strong is the point? If I punched someone wearing a leather jacket with it, do you think would it snap the tip off?

thanks Esav, lol, it's not even a real photo, I was getting worked up too :D I still don't understand why I can't open the site

I am a little skeptical and think of it as just another variation of the CIA letter opener, in a kerambit style package. If someone gets it and digs it, let us know it's strengths and weaknesses.

Oops, sorry, i missed this, i don't spend as much time on the net as i used to.

I'd say that a leatherjacket would definitely snap the bladetip.
I see this as a "soft target" weapon, face, neck, hands etc.

HTH :)
