Pommel on an axe..?

I've been wondering about putting a pommel on my axe. It's not super heavy, just a Cold Steel Norse hawk, however, I was wondering if it would be an effective way to alter the point of balance as well as give a secondary bashing option. Any thoughts...? I don't quite know where i would even start other than maybe drilling into the shaft and epoxying a threaded bar and maybe get a steel pommel used for HEMA...?

it depens of what you call a pommel! for me it was the swell on the handle of a knife ...
its seems it is not what you mean!

If you plan on throwing it, the balance would probably be effected. Axes are top-heavy objects, any kind of addition to the handle (especially near the butt) will probably effect the balance.

Along these lines?

We make metal "end caps" for the bottom of the handles of our triple T (through the top) tomahawks. We could make something similar for a Cold Steel hawk. The end cap does change the point of balance and can be useful for defensive moves. If you are interested, please either PM us or email us through our website. Thank you.

The one that I found online looked something like the T4 pommel type in that picture above. I don't plan on throwing it, I was wanting to use it in a more CQB type situation and keep it in hand. The tomahawk in question is kept on both by friction and a small screw which kind of negates it coming off during a pommel strike.
