Pommel plated blade recommendations

I'm shopping around for medium to large fixed bladed knives with durable pommel plates and I was wondering if people would be so kind as to post their recommendations. I am currently looking at the kabar mark 1 but I wish it had a saber grind. I would love to see a smaller modernized cattaraugus 225q. I'm not looking to get a custom done right now so production only please and thanks.
 
Can I ask what you intend to use the a durable pommel plate for? Why not just a full tang knife with an extended tang/pommel?
 
Cold Steel's Leatherneck has a strong, machined steel pommel that does the job and does it well. I know, because I've used it. :thumbup:

The rest of the knife is amazing, too.

a. smashing and hammering.
b. I have had esee's and a couple others like that. It works well, but I am looking for the full plate. pecans to tent stakes...and beyond!


and thanks Kwon. I have had and loved a few of the classic kabars, just looking for something different. If I go that route it will be the mark 1.
