Pommel styles on RC-4s

I've only seen the rounded pommel in photos of black/black versions. Photos of the tan/green and od/orange versions show the pointed style pommel. Is it true that these are only offered in with pointed pommel?

The Rat website seems to indicate that all Rc-4s have a rounded pommel on the RC-4 spec page http://www.ratcutlery.com/rc-4.htm.

Sorry if this was brought-up elsewhere. My searches came up dry.

I've been wondering the same thing. The descriptions say rounded pommels, but the pictures show pointed. I sure hope it is the rounded pommel, like the black and grey version.

as far as I know all RC4's are Round Pommel

what you are seeing are RC3 with the different color options under RC4...

Yes, but the imagery on the RC site shows pointed pommels.

On the emergencyoptions web site it gives you the option of standard pommel or modified pommel on both the -3 and the -4. They don't have pictures up yet because they haven't received their stock. I can only guess that:

RC-3 Standard Pommel = Pointed
RC-3 Modified Pommel = Rounded

RC-4 Standard Pommel = Rounded
RC-4 Modified Pommel = Pointed

A bit confusing...

The tan ones clearly have an "R C4" engraving. The blade looks to be the correct Rc 4 length. maybe the little thumbnail of the OD version is a Rc 3?

I could be wrong here, but from what I understand. You can get both pommel options on the RC3, rounded or pointed. I dont beleive you have the option on the RC4. I am pretty sure that I heard they only come with the rounded pommel. Something could have changed since I read this info from Jeff on the forum a while back.

Right now, the only way the RC-4 is offered is rounded pommel. Disregard the only phone of a tan RC-4 on the site. I should have never been put up since it is confusing.
