This was that pool and eye project that I have been working on. it was 4” inch hunter after I finished grinding the blade. it did have a small inclusion and I was hoping it wouldn’t get any bigger during heat treat but no luck it go huge and a large chip came off on one side as you can see from the grinding I had to do, as you can tell the words lost cause is not I my vocabulary or at least not that often. What I have to show is 7 1/2'” OAL, the cutting edge it is 2”Long and (hold sharp like there’s know tomorrow) 15/16” wide with desert iron wood scales I still have to epoxy them on some time your windshield sometimes you’re the bug. Tell me what you think. Russ

hey i like it. i am working on a bunch of small one's like that how. some in damuscus some in BG-42. pssss if you dont tell them you had to cut it down! they will never know:D

Rotor, Kewl:cool:    the knife has a Tribal look to it. Just where the sharp starts on the blade it looks like a gremlin is included right in the steel. I LIKE IT

Now that is really nice! I like the shape alot and the gremlin is pretty neat too. Glad you didn't give up on this one.

WAY COOL!!!!!!!Nice save, and way to not give up....Nice pattern also,That gremlin face is pretty cool also, guess that is what caused the bad spot to show up huh...

Thanks all next time I will get the components for the Damascus as clean as possible any hopefully avoid this happening again. sometimes I will get out in the shop, and the I wonder if I can do it bug will get the best of me, or I will get in a hurry to finish what I started :o which will cause more work than I anticipated:mad: thanks again Russ

I have also learned that you just can't get in a hurry when making Damascus. It is like doing the fit and finish there is just no way around doing it correctly the first time no mater how long it takes.
It was still a great save.
Bruce
