Does anyone know of any black coatings that can be applied to metal easily (no special equipment required) that would withstand water, oil, and alcohol?
I have a knife that's fairly blacked out (black coated blade, handle, etc.) except for a few bits like the hardware. I'd like to coat the hardware as well, to fully black out the knife for aesthetic purposes. However, I don't want to go through the trouble of sending it out to get properly coated with PVD equipment, or anything like that.
A simple Sharpie could be a short term solution, but it'd be gone the first time I wiped the knife off with alcohol. I'm hoping to find a better fix.
