Hello :)

I stumbled on a pic that led me to this new version of the Drifter:
http://www2.knifecenter.com/item/CR6451S/columbia-river-6451s-large-drifter-folding-knife-plain-blade-stainless-steel-handles
It was the first time i saw it and liked it :)
In my early collecting days i bought the ss Drifter to check out what a framelock was...it seems like another lifetime ago:D
Anyway, due to it's teflon washers it was one of the smoothest knives i ever had and despite it's small size i really liked it.
This new size seems better now so, who knows, maybe i'll give it shot.
Anyone else interested?

Thanks:)

Intriguing. Kind of want to pick this up when I get a Code 4 so I can do a three-way comparison with my Boker Titan. I have a serious love/hate relationship with CRKT though. I like the looks of so many of their knives, but the execution is just utterly lacking. On a sub-$25 knife like this it's hard to argue about any execution as long as it doesn't fall apart. I'll have to pull the trigger on it.

EDIT: Ergh... just noticed it's 8Cr14MoV. I've had some serious issues with this and 8Cr13MoV both rusting like crazy when carried extensively. This somewhat tempers my enthusiasm, but again $25...

Always liked the drifter, it was the first knife I ever bought a second of (albeit I bought a tiger striped SRM 707 but it's the same knife). Just recently got rid of my last one in the PiF thread and I would consider the new bigger one cause I always liked them if it had a tip-up clip option, I don't like the clip at all and I don't like tip down. CRKT has never been interested in multi clip mounts tho.

I like it a lot the crkt is a really nice budget line. I wouldn't get another one though. I wish they would create a 440c line and charge a bit more.

Reason being in small form they worked great as edc light duty knives. I'd want a harder use steel for a large version...
