Poor Sheath by Winkler Knives

Hello
I've had the Winkler Lost Lake Camp knife for a few days. The knife itself is ok, but the knife sheath is a disaster! The sheath falls off the knife, the knife has no grip at all in the sheath. Simple leather, somehow too loosely cut. I also have a Winkler Belt Knife, the sheath is perfect, a hybrid of leather and Kydex. Does anyone have any ideas on how to improve this incredibly bad sheath?

That's a beast of a knife! I adapted a couple of sheaths that were too loose by inserting a piece of leather. I treat all my leather sheaths inside and out with SnowSeal so the insert adheres without having to glue or stitch it.

To this neophyte, it sounds like it could benefit from wet molding the sheath to the knife.

Winkler got hit by the hurricane flooding, so they may not be back up to full speed. Still worth a call or email by the OP.

Hmmm, looking at pictures it seems to be a drop-in pouch type sheath, not like their other sheaths. I don't think it was ever meant as a high retention sheath.
