I promise to get some real images posted after my next visit to Coop.

Don Hanson, Integral Bowie, 10" blade, JS Test Knife

I had seen and fondled this knife at the NYC show in March, but was just too broke to scoop it up. Fortunately Don decided not to sell it, and kept it to use it as one of his JS Test knives. Mr. Fisk thought that I did "real good" on getting this one from Don.

Terry Primos, Southwest Bowie, 10.75" blade
Big and Bad, we need to squeeze more Bowies out of Terry!
(it actually arrived the day before the Blade Show after a 2.5 year wait on his list)

Mike Williams, Clip Point Bowie, 12" blade.
Sometimes when you see a knife, you just know that you have got to have it.
It won Best non Damascus forged fixed blade at Blade Show 2005

Adam DesRosiers, Chichagof Fighter, 7" blade.

You will be hearing a lot more about Adam. First rate work that will only get better. Also a super nice guy, this knife was my first unplaned purchase at Blade 2005. Light and quick it feels as though it was made for my hand.
Thanks to Jason Knight for the early introduction to Adam.

Tommy Gann, Stag Fighter, 6.25" blade, JS Test Knife.

I was introduced to Tommy, by Aussi Bladesmith Shawn McIntyre, while they were sweating/waiting for the completion of JS Test judging. Shawn told me flat out that Tommy's test knifes were the best in the room.
It took me about 45 seconds to purchase one of Tommy's JS test Knives on the spot.
I am proud to say that, I bought the FIRST knife that Tommy has ever sold.

FWIW, the Judges gave Tommy the Peck Award for Best JS Test Knife

(this Fighter is not the award winner, but it easily could have been)

Damn, did you do well! That DesRosiers fighter is nice. I am very interested in getting one of his bowies. The Hanson integral looks outstanding. Actually, they all look great.

Peter did VERY well indeed. All of the knives are very sweet. I am particularly fond of the Williams (Peter, you shoulda got the matching hunter!) and the Hanson.

What do I think of the Primos? Well, I spent the better part of the weekend trying to wrestle it away from him. That's what I think of it.

Keith - go for it. Adam's bowies are terrific: powerful knives and scary sharp. As he has repeatedly demonstrated, they WILL cut VERY well. If I had deeper pockets I would have left with one his knives.

Roger

PS - Peter - didn't I hear that Tommy was a protoge of Tim Hancock - or did I get that wrong?

I had the Pleasure of handling the Hanson integral..it is a beautiful piece wonderful lines feel and flow.
What a Haul Peter an Ironwood trio to die for!...but what happened to the Fisk Hunter you were tracking?
Fantastic seeing work from some of the lesser known makers they look great incredible you definately done GOOD

Not bad Mr. Gill, not bad at all :D

Adam is a greaty guy and working his way into this biz. He is also smart, as he bought a hunter from me in Reno ;)

Adam has put a lot of work into making hard use knives, and his stellar performance obviously shows that off.

While I really like all the knives here, I think the Williams and the Primos are the two that really trip my trigger :)

Roger,

Tommy Gann is a student of Tim Hancock and it shows.

Ran,

I fondled that Gamemaster 25 Year Hunter by Mr. Jerry. What can I say? Simply fabulous, but I was already fully committed. That little Fisk Bowie that you liked was also mighty nice!

I have posted slightly improved photos out of my respect for the makers.

Damn, Peter!! You really know how to pick out the best apples in a tree. WOW. :D

They are all stunning, but Adam Desrosier's knife knocks me out.

Great write-up and engaging descriptions. I'm loving the forum this evening!

Thanks!

Coop

Pete, it was nice to meet you. Congrats on all your fine acquisitions.

Good thing you got to that Des Rosiers knife before I did. By the time I got to his table it was already gone, but I would have been sorely tempted. Beautiful piece... Adam seems like a great guy too.

I handled that Hanson at the last NYC show. It was one of three knives that sorely tempted me at that show. It was out of my budget for the show though.

Too bad you couldn't afford any of the higher end stuff! Man, what a haul! Did you have an armed escort?

Nice to finally get to meet you, Peter. That is indeed a fine haul. Just happy to do my part to help out, LOL!
