I recently had both my spyderco knives sent back for sharpening and I must say I am less that impressed with the edge they came back with. Don't get me wrong they are sharp but they lack that bite that I have grown used to feeling from my Microtech and benchmade (mainly in the serrated areas) Is there a reason these knives don't have an equivlant edge? Is it in the geometry/design of the blade? One is a few year old Endura and the other is the 440V cpm millitary knife. What do you all think? I can live with it the way it is but I expected more.

cm440 is a bear to sharpen. I found myself grinding with course lansky stones after my military got dull just to bring it back.... typically what i found out is that if theres an edge that you like.... just practice and try techniques to get it that sharp. I usually use a lansky system and work down to the ultra fine stone and then use a leather strop with some simicrome polish on it and strop the edge usually until its smooth and is without burr. Usually freaky sharp then...
