"Popcorn" stag?

I am guessing that the term "popcorn" stag is used to describe stag with lots of the bark intact and with an appearance of lots of smaller "bumps" (can't think of a more descriptive word). Does that sound about right?

Lumpy, pebbly surface as opposed to the normal grooved surface found on Sambar stag. Red deer on the other hand has a smoother surface looking like jigged bone instead of the heavy grooves of the Sambar.

I would have benefited from this information before, but now I have destroyed about a hundred stag pieces putting them on the microwave and pressing the "popcorn" buttom...

I agree with fitzo and call Luca, he cut some very nice Sambar for me that he didn't have listed on his site. Here is some Sambar popcorn that I got from him a few months ago, not sure if he still has some available.
