My sweet wife did not inform me that she didnt send the minimum payment to Visa this month. That's why my knifemakers subscription wasn't renewed before it expired. No big deal. It'll be straight by monday.

The big deal is that I wasnt aware of this little tidbit of info when I placed an order with James Poplin of Pop's Knife Supplies. Got a call back from his wife letting me know that my card was rejected. I told him just to sit my order aside and would call back when Visa got their payment. James insisted to just go ahead and ship my order and pay him when I could. That is fine gentleman. So please give your buisness to "Pop" whenever you can.

I'll be getting some belts for this pups KMG next coupla a' weeks.......I'll get those from Pop

I can't say enough good things about James Poplin....his customer service is unequalled. He is the ONLY guy I will buy from.

I buy everything I can from Pop's. He's always billed me, which is really nice and he's even told me to pay him later on, even at a show when I'm picking things up. I couldn't possibly do that but, what a hell of a guy for trust, huh. Suggest him to everyone, he and his wife are great people.

Pop is the best!
When my son wanted to get started with a basic Bader, Pop set him up and let him pay off the extra things he needed at a generous pace.
I get by there every so often and have never bought a belt from anyone but him. Once a dealer out west sent me a free belt to try. It popped after 5 minutes and left a welt on my hide. Pop's have never done that to me.
He and his lively wife attend all the small events in the Georgia area and is a member of the Georgia Guild.
He has a lot of patience and let Nan spend many happy hours searching through boxes of stuff to find what she wanted. For that alone I will always buy there. Knife stuff was one of her main joys in the last year.
Anyway, Pop is my first stop for supplies.
Enjoy, Ken

He sounds like a good man with whom to do business. My interest is piqued - how can I contact him? Does he have a web site?

I couldn't let this thread die after my experience this week. Monday night, while working on a hunting knife for a repeat customer, I realized that I had bought the wrong sized Corby rivets at the Blade Show. I didn't have to counterbore tool for that size. Never having ordered from Pop, but having read this thread recently, I called him at about 1pm on Tuesday, and left a desperate message. I wasn't a "regular customer" like the message says, but guess what I had when I got home from work on Wednesday? You, and now he have convinced me! He'll have my business from now on. Thanks!

Jim helped me get started grinding by talking me out of spending too much money with him on belts I thought I needed and he knew I did not need.

Called him Sat for belts....At my door on Tuesday...What else can you say? He even thru in a piece of graphite cloth for my platen.......

Does Pop sell precision ground 440c, s30v, or ats34?
I need to order some plus some other things that aren't in his catalog like zippered folder cases, folder lube, counter bores for 1-72 socket heads. I've done business with Pop before but most often the items I need aren't in his catalog or on his web site and I thought he might have some things available that weren't listed yet.
Thanks guys!
Michael

Kit Carson told me about Pop when I first started trying to make knives and I've bought every belt I've used from him and I'll continue to do so.
