i recently got a GATCO sharpening system, mostly to sharpen chisel edge blades - i have trouble w/them for some reason or other - when i got it i ordered a GATCO extra fine porcelain finishing stone to go w/the GATCO kit - havent really used it much - well i lost my black fine hard ark stone recently, and was sharpening my new crawford, wishing i had a hard ark to finish off the edge - i thought, what the heck, try the GATCO porcelain, just held it though didnt use clamp, etc (dont wanna scratch up the blade) and man, that thing worked GREAT - imho BETTER than a hard ark - just be carefull and dont cut yourself lol, its kinda narrow to use by hand, but it puts a scary edege on a knife, believe me - worked so well i got out the AFCK, SIFU, Spyderco terzuola and put a SCARY edge on all of them - i am gonna find a normal size pocelain stone and get it, tonite if i can find 1 - anyone used 1 of these before? know where to get a std stone? if ya havent, give them a try, i'm impressed .......

I do most of my maintenance honing with a fine ceramic rod ( shaped like a regular steel ) It works very well indeed.
