Figured i'd join the fray of posters posting pics of pants, particularly i'm posting pics of porkshank pants perfectly positioned on my people pants.

Actually, it's my first home-made leather pants, decided to take advantage of the little ladies Tandy gold membership and buy some leather and stuff. Plenty of flaws, but not doing it for profit... i always thought of leather work as a basic frontier craft, and that everybody should be able to do in a pinch, mark one more skill for the zombie apocalypse off the list.

It's actually a .028 kydex formed sleeve lined with calf skin for quiet, and then covered with the leather. That's why it's a little wide for the pork shank. Probably shouldn't experiment until i actually know the basics, but that's half the fun. Lot's i'd do differently, but it works ok.

Very nice. great looking leather work .

Very nice leather work!
Never thought about taking my pants off for a knife/sheath picture but I will now.:D

Thank you, sir, that means a lot coming form a pants pro like yourself.

Doing something like this does teach one the value we receive from the high quality work that you all sell. Ultimately, it probably cost me more in time and money to do this than it would have to buy a much better quality leather sheath from one of you guys.

But i like to tinker and learn when i do have some time.

Way to go Man..that looks like a rugged one fo' sho'

Not half as rugged as the chopper pants i just saw on your thread! My next project, also for a chopper, is definitely going to be "borrowing" from your design ;)

Nice work for a nice piece of INFI.

Thanks! Yes, that pork shank is growing on me. It's just SUCH a practical profile! i did the sheath because i'm hoping to figure out how to EDC the shank. I get more "strange" looks trotting around with the TGLB than when i open carry a 1911

Great job! You might want concider making or getting a good stiff leather belt to compliment the sheath.

Funny, i saw the pre-cut belts at Tandy and thought, "I could match that to the sheath." I think i'll do that! Thanks for the encouragement.

wont' give up my instructor belt, though, has some practical uses on the rare occasion that i want to secure to something... not a fan of heights, but get stuck up there occasionally

Nice work. Looks like you will be fine if you need to do any Zombie Apocalypse leather work.

I make some of my own leather belts. Good stuff. But I have to be honest and admit that the Wilderness belts are lighter, waterproof and just as ridged. They don't stretch as much as leather either.

The other advantage of the velcro belts is they do NOT leave a belt buckle 'mark' when you... um... change 'sizes'. :o I hate that... Although, I fully understand that my belly size is simply a factor of the fine food and booze in which I 'invest'. Livin good is livin right! :D

Still, great looking sheath man!
