After 17 years, Porsche is back atop the podium at LeMans. They had obviously won lower classes since their last overall win in 1998, but this was the first big win since then and only the second time that they had raced in the top class since the late 90's. Number 17 overall win in case anyone is counting.:D

A brilliant result! The four ringed circus must be gutted!:o

Also a brilliant result for Corvette. :)

Audi will be back at the drawing board and unveil something new next year. They seem to be blazing a trail right now, even if Porsche knocked them off the top of the podium this year.

Doesn't V.W. own both Audi and Porsche? Surprised (but pleased) that they let them loose to compete against each other.

Porsche is still given a pretty long leash much like Ferrari. Bentley, also owned by VAG, is also talking about coming back to LMP1 Rumors still bouncing around about Ferrari, but none coming from Maranello. I think that the version of the LaFarrari that was spotted apparently running another engine other than the V12 may have been the Ferrari boys getting in a little extra bit of questionable legal testing on their this years F1 engine. Seems to have worked compared to last year. I will be interesting to see what Ford does once they get the Gt ready to race in GTE next year. They say they are bringing 4 cars and Chip Ganassi and Felix Sabates are operating both two car teams. It sounds like one team is primarily for the Tudor championship in the US and the other for the FIA WEC races, but both teams plan to run at LeMans in the GTE Pro class.

Everyone should be looking at spy pics of the Audi's aerodynamics because they clearly have a slight advantage in that department. On the other hand, Porsche has nailed the hybrid system by using batteries, which everyojne else blew off as too heavy. With that said, it did take like an 80% redesign in the off season for Porsche to get the car down to the class minimum weight of 870 kg even with the tiny 4 cycled engine. Apparently, they were already carrying the big 8MJ sized battery pack last year even though they were racing in the 6MJ class.
