I occasionally see leathers for sale that were intended to be used by high end product companies. You can buy leather from the vendors that sell leather to Ferrari, Bentley, etc. You can also buy pieces that have already been cut by the end manufacturer but are overstock. Justin boots with exotic vamps and such.
My question is, do you think these leathers have added appeal? I reckon a wallet made from red perforated Ferrari leather would appeal to many seeking a high end handmade item, but I'm not sure it would be appealing as an inlay on a sheath though.
I ordered an emu hide, I'm thinking about ordering a Prada hide. If nothing else, I imagine it would be very clean and nice.
There was a gentleman here a few months ago that offered some leather that had been recovered from a shipwreck. Super cool stuff with a neat cross hatch embossed surface, but far too rich for my blood. Same with great white shark. The tiny pieces I've seen were incredibly expensive.
