Looking to go there on vacation this year. Anyone familiar with it?

Port St. Joe is just about 120 miles south east of where I live. You can't go wrong visiting the Florida panhandle, especially if you want to go fishing out in the gulf! Port St Joe is right on a point where the current flows east to west and when the winds are right there should be some good pier fishing too. If you want to stay in a condominium you need to book it as early as possible, they get taken real quick. If you plan on staying a week or two that's the best way to go. You get a nice apartment and you can get them right on the beach or close, depending on what you want to spend. There are web sites you can go to and check out the place. Then you could pick the place where you want to stay and the places you want to see. Best advice I can give you is stay away from the tourist outfits, lol!
I hope you have a grand time!!!

I have been out there twice with my wife and daughter. we chartered a boat and did some fishing. my daughter spent about $600.00 on a shopping spree there, so if you are taking women with you, be careful if they go shopping.

I was hoping there wouldn't be too many places to shop there. That was one of my wife's complaints. It doesn't seem very commercialized.

I live in Panama City, about 45 miles north of St. Joe. The area is really growing, and is a beautiful part of Florida. You're only about 20 miles from Apalachicola, which is full of shops and botiques. You'll enjoy the area. Bill.
