hello yall, havent been on the forum too much since the accident. I was looking through my grizzly catalog and found this portable metal bandsaw with a stand. I know many times ive seen folks post questions about how to mount a port/bandsaw. Well hare is one that comes with a stand. Please take a look and see if the speeds are what you want as well as the power. I just took a quick glance. http://grizzly.com/products/Portable-Bandsaw-w-Stand/G8692 . I personally have a dewalt porta/bandsaw. I really like it becaue i have total control of the speed and its built tough. This grizzly may be the right one for you-i dont know. Im just sharing some info. Please folks chime in on the pros and cons of the specs and overall model-so that other folks can make an informed decision about purchasing a porta metal cutting bandsaw---thanks-marekz

That's a really weird set up Marek.

The saw is mounted upside down IMO. The rotation of the blade is going to be cutting with pressure against the movable (front) vise jaw rather than back against the rear jaw of the vise.

That stand would not work for cutting bar stock and such in an upright position because of that. Unless you can reverse the rotation of the saw... the saw blade would try to lift everything up toward the ceiling.

Goodness- you know i should have looked at it a bit more. I see the problem in which your stating. well im glad we can atleast help rule out somethings--thanks -marek
