POS years ago - customs now

Answering Steve Koski post led me to this question:

How many of you started your collections with really cheap knives and now collect only (or mostly) custom knives?

What happened to those "old" knives? Are they of any value to you?

You bet!!! I still have every knife I ever bought since I was 10. I have everything from the cheapest imports to really expensive handmades, but they all contain good memories. I still have my very first folder, a case stockman's knife. It is stained to hell and back and has had several new points ground, but I still carry it on a daily basis/

I too have the knives that I started with ,with the exception of the ones that were stolen from me or just got legs and I didn't know were they went. But I haven't been able to bring myself to the point were I will spend to much on any perticular knife.With a limited budget and the constant wants I have to watch what I spend.So when I see the realy expensive knives I cring and can't seem to part with that much money. In my present fisical condition I don't realy use my knives any more and find it hard to justify spending that much for the knives.But I keep looking at the knives and finding more to buy. I don't like to buy the junk knives but try to make each purchase count.
