What to do, what to do ?
Let’s take suggestions on some torture tests.

A little backstory, 5 years ago my interest and hobby funds moved from firearms to knives. My wife picked up on this and with good intentions she bought me this knife on the line. She gave it to me on one occasion, I thanked her for the thought and explained how that knife went against nearly everything that draws me to the knives I like. She understood and intended on returning it. Somehow it fell through the cracks and ended up in the garage for a few years.

So what should we do with it ?

Hang onto the thing and cherish the memory of your wife buying it for you. The knife itself may be mediocre, but that shouldn’t matter as much as the memory of your spouse trying to please you and offer support for your hobby.

Cherish it man. I have a Gerber Gator from my little brother and a Buck Bantam from my mom, and while neither are knives I would normally carry, they have a place of honor in my knife collection because I think it's pretty cool that my family thought about my interests when buying me a gift. :)

They also help remind me of what a damn snob I am considering the Gerber and Buck can do everything my $700+ Olamic Busker can do...

Tug at the heart strings why don’t ya.

I was expecting the kill it with fire crowd.

Use it and see how it holds up. If it's good, maybe posh damascus will be the new thing.

Hang it on the wall, or better yet, just use it for letter opening. It's the thought that counts.

Early in our relationship, my wife bought me a United Cutlery dagger like thingy because she knew I liked knives and swords and sharp shiny things. Absolutely has no usefulness what so ever, but remains in the collection because it was a gift from her.

I say hang it up or put it on a stand on the desk, it will make you smile every time you look at it.
