position of Spyderco C10/C11's clips

Hello guys, I found something interesting: usually Spyderco C10 Endura4, C11 Delica4 install their clips at bottom of the handle as default, but the stainless handle Endura4 and Delica4 install their clips at the top of handle, around the pivot as default, who can tell me why they don't install clips at the same position?

Tradition maybe? IIRC, back before they offered multiple clip-mounting options (the first Terzuola models were the earliest I remember having this feature), the metal handled models were all tip down and the plastic handled models were tip up. Not really an explanation as to why but it's all I got. You might have better luck in the Spyderco forum and you could have a Mod move this there if you wish.
