Positron KnifeCenter Exclusive

I will probably check out this version. The original seemed ok, didn't interested me a lot. But something about this orange g10 intrigues me.

going to pass, because even though i like orange G10,i never thought the positron was much of a improvement over the brad southard!fact is the southard is a better overall knife flipper,i don't no if the positron was meant to be a upgraded version!or not,my thought is its just smaller and lighter,i no of two other people who returned it because of this reason, this is just my thought on the matter.:(

The upgraded steel from S30V to S35VN is nice. The polished G-10 will probably give you less traction than the CF. The biggest issue with the Positron is the awkward liner lock access. Hope they've fixed that in this G-10 model. The S35VN/G-10 model is priced the same as the S30V/CF model.

I was going to ask the same question. I like Spyderco and orange so seems like a no brainer

Just shipped...will know Monday. I think going from S-30V to 35 will silence most of the criticism of the previous Positron. The other criticisms regarding the pocket clip, width and liner lock are my personal preference so no issues for me. I also prefer g10 over CF.

I had the same issue. I really like the knife, but it just didn't work with the geometry of my hand. I had to pinch the liner with my index finger and awkwardly close it against my thigh to close it with one hand. My thumb just couldn't get to the liner.

Hard choice....Orange G10 is very sexy...but gets dirty easily....plus you can get the Carbon Fiber version for the same price and carbon fiber is a lot more expensive of material compared to G10.

Great knife but will not be for everyone. Like someone said...If you have big thumbs the liner lock will be a challenge. I have normal sized thumbs and no issues. I like the low profile compared to my Native 5 dip it suits in pocket well for me.

^Wow, you got yours fast! Well, I think you got yours fast, lol.

Anyway, I ordered one. But, given the lack of interest, and the lukewarm reception, I'm thinking I might have made the wrong decision. However, I've found that if I hesitate, when it comes to a Spyderco knife, that I lose out. Looks like I could have hesitated, on this one, and I would have been fine.

Oh well, I'm looking forward to seeing the knife in person.

I really like the orange G10....and I enjoy S35VN quite a bit. But, the second my initial 'Yay-a-new-dealer-exclusive!!' feeling wore off, I was instantly transported back to when I handled the original Positron in the SFO. It was the very definition of 'Meh' to me. Too small for my large-XL hands. Too...'chunky'; the height at the back of the handle forces my fingers where they don't want to be. Flipper only opening...and it didn't flip well, at that. Liner lock was smaller/more recessed/more difficult to actuate than I felt it should be. S30V...though that's less of a complaint now than it was then.

Just not for me...but I do hope that those whose 'boxes it checks' are thouroughly pleased. :D
