Possibility or interest in 490 with handle material other than aluminum?

I'm not big on metal handles, especially aluminum. I really like the design and materials of the 490, especially the thin S90V blade, but don't like the aluminum handle! At it's price point I will likely not purchase it as I own an unhealthy amount of knives and I have learned what gets used and I don't need more safe queens.

Anyone think there would be a possibility of a version with liners and CF? Or something else? I'm thinking that because it already has a premium blade steel there won't be many variants but who knows. Anyone else dislike aluminum handles and want to see something different? I would probably get a few of them in a different handle material and it would be close to my perfect knife.

Has anyone taken one apart or know what the assist mechanism is like? Think it would be possible to mod one? Maybe mill the aluminum down and attach a thin scale so liners wouldn't have to be made?

Thoughts?

I don't mind the aluminum scales but the biggest put off on the 490 or even the 470 are the lack of standoffs or a back spacer (like the 940/943) I just think the big flat seam is a eye sore on the part of a knife that is seen very often.....also there are folks on here that maybe able to make custom scales for you.

Whilst I also own a very unhealthy amount of knives, the 490 has got a lot of pocket time since I got it. I'll be in for any version of it.

Whilst the OP suggested that he didn't like metal handles, my first choice would be Ti but I doubt that would be cheap. If the Benchmade can do the CLA in G10, I'm sure a G10 490 is not technically impossible. The knife itself isn't getting a lot of bandwidth so I'm not sure how keen BKC will be to do variations of it - I hope they do though.
