Possible fake Fallkniven F1?

Hi y'all, bare with me, this is my first post and I'm not too sure whether or not I'm breaking any rules here. Went to a gun show today and saw some guy selling what appears to be a Fallkniven F1 for $30. I know, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is, but the dude didn't seem too knowledgeable about it so I figured he just didn't realize what he had his hands on. Besides, it was my father's Christmas present to me so I'm really no money out. After I bought it I started doing some research and now, maybe due to my chronic paranoia, I'm afraid I may have a fake. It has an excellent edge on it, seems very sturdy, the specifications seem to match, but the fact that there's not a defined lamination line and the choil being a bit oddly shaped stands out to me. It was a used knife, so I figured maybe that's why the line is very faint (it can only be seen if the light hits it just right) and I'm not sure if that's common on used F1s. If I can manage to take a non-blurry picture, I'll post it. Also, the box wasn't with it so I wasn't able to check the color of the interior of the box, which from what I hear is a definite indicator of a counterfeit. Thanks for whatever help y'all give me.

How many F1's did he have for sale? Was he selling just knives? Of course, some pics would help determine if it is fake or not.

Also, the logo reads: F1 (top) FALLKNIVEN (middle, two dots above letter A) LAM.VG10 (bottom) in an oval that seems almost engraved. I can feel the logo if I run my thumbnail across the side of it.

@theobetts: This was the only one, but he had a decent selection of others, and a larger selection of guns. Newbie question, how can I post pics?

I have 5 different models both vg10 and the super gold steel .They all have defined lamination lines.

@Jignpop: There's definitely some sort of line that runs along both sides of mine, but it's only visible at an angle, and it's not crisp.

Rest easy...the show promoter will know who and where the seller is. If you find out it's fake call the venue, get the info on the show promoter, contact him and go from there. The promoter doesn't want you going to local media and raising a stink about his show. He would help in something like this. One good thing about purchasing locally or at a show....

In fact, find out anyway, tell the promoter you need to contact the guy to buy some more knives and get ahold of the seller himself. You'll just need to describe where the booth was. The show promoter should have a brick/mortar addy for the guy, esp. if he has a gun shop. Then you can call him and just ask him if he sold you a fake.

Next time you buy at a show get the seller's business card. I bet you're fine. Sellers at those shows know they can't ghost afterward.

It's only Saturday. Go back tomorrow if you're uncomfortable...take your stub from today. The show run's Sunday too, right?

Thanks, EChoil. Either way, this is a sweet knife. I'm gonna go on under the assumption this is the real deal because I don't have anything concrete to suggest otherwise. It's sharp as a tack, and I'm gonna take it to the ESEE survival course a week from today. I guess if it can handle that, then it's real. Yeah, the show's still going on tomorrow, but unfortunately I'm working. Oh well, what's done is done.

I think it's real. Cover your bases anyway tomorrow if you're still nervous about it.

Good choice by the way. Don't let em steal it from you at the ESSE school. And let us know about all this when you get back. I always wished I'd gone to school.

In case someone else wants to give input, I have the leather sheath for mine with the covering flap. Has F 1 in an oval, silver fastenings, and the logo is kind of a silver that stands out from the blade when it's in the light at a good angle.

I had both for a while so I have some old pictures to compare. Mine is in 3G I might ad.

Indeed there are fake Falkniven F1's out there. I bought one off a different forum a few years back. I didn't look at the pics close at all. Lesson learned for me now I study the pics. It had no lamination line which is a dead giveaway on that knife. Took it to work and put it on a Rockwell hardness tester. We have a machine shop at work in the building next door. The steel was not hardened at all.
I got my money back from the seller and returned the knife to him. I am not sure he knew it was a fake but I did school him on this one.
If it has no Lamination line which is how Falkniven makes that blade then it's definitely a fake.
Sorry, but at least you didn't pay much for it so consider it a cheap lesson. Many knife sellers are not up to speed on every model they come across so I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt on a one time basis.
