Well I'm leaving for college in about a month, so that means I'm gonna have to take a break from knives for awhile. I hope I don't lose interest completely, but anythings possible. I just wanted to say thank to all you hogs for the entertainment and knowledgeable busse related advice that you all have provided for the past year and a half. I'll visit the forums occasionally, and will definitely keep an eye out for future new releases. I hope I don't miss out on the mini muk because I've been waiting awhile for that beauty:rolleyes:. Who knows my college (Virginia Tech) is in the mountains and is a perfect place for hiking and camping, so I may be able to use some infi after-all. And I may even make it to BLADE 2013:eek: and meet some of y'all in person. Anyways I'll try to scour the forum every once and awhile but I just wanted to say thanks to all you hogs and the members of the Busse crew.I now own over 20 busse knives and have some more en route!! Oh and college means BOOZE so my knowledge of alcoholic beverages will hopefully be up to par by the time blade 2013 rolls around:D

I will send you my address, send your knives to me while you are away and I promise they will be treated with love..................

Good luck!!!

Have fun and stay on top of the homework. Nothing sucks worse than cramming for finals and realizing that you were doodling the whole time during class. Review your notes often as horrible as it may seem :D And maybe you will have a fall break and can make it to Knob Creek in October?

Have fun and make the best of your journey. Also send half to me and the other half to Gravelface, he already has too many!!

good luck and have fun while you are there.
Check in every once in a while

'Gratz on your acceptance to VT!
Definitely keep some free time, because the area is beautiful, and there's lots to explore, whether by foot or by car. I've had some real fun throwing the map in the glove box and taking whatever dirt road(s) strike my fancy...bring a camera! :)

If you get the tourist bug and are up for a lazy cruise, check out Mountain Lake. it's about 40-50 min west (and up) from Christiansburg/Blacksburg. About 25min. west on 460 (bypass), then take a right at Rt. 700 and head on up (7 miles). If you go, walk through the hotel and remember this line... "Nobody puts Baby in a corner." ;) :D:D My family used to hold our annual family reunion weekend there for many years. It's really beautiful there. Hopefully, the lake is full again...
Also, the Blue Ridge parkway and the Appalachian Trail are in close proximity to the area, along with lots of national parks and land. Decent trout fishing too.

A few tips:
Go easy on the 'shine until you get used to it. ;)
Don't speed. Local LEO's will getcha quick if you do.
And if you hear banjo music...paddle faster! :D

Congrats on starting a new chapter of your life. Be sure to keep us posted on how everything is going.

Garth

Not sure about VT, but I went to ECU. Before I left, I stocked up! You should too! CVS sells Trojans in a 36 count box for a reason! Get a couple ASAP!

^^^^These are bad tips.^^^^

1. Drink a bunch of moonshine the first chance you get, so you know how much not to drink in the future. (plus you'll have a good story to tell)
2. Take the back/country roads.......and it don't matter how fast you drive.
3. People who play banjos are the best kinda people. People who listen to that kind of music are the 2nd best kinda people.

I'm from KY not VA but trust me, I know what I'm talking about. ;)

And yes..........I listen to "banjo music". :)

As a VT graduate, I can say that--while I love knives--college was about 1000% times funner. Good luck. Go Hokies!

I went to ECU! Have we talked about this? I think we have. I've got to quit drinking during the week.

Good luck in your studies, do good work, and stay safe...well, OK, I know college-age young men better than that! ;):D

Good Luck to ya son and congrats on VT!!! You will be back cause steel is something that gets in you blood. Take care and check in as often as you can...
