Possible flaw in ebony handle. Should I be worried? (GEC content)

Hi guys. I took delivery of my 99 Wall Street lockback today. I absolutely love this knife. Perfect pull, blade centering, fit, etc.

Now, I own / have owned many GEC knives, several in ebony, which is my favorite handle material. Upon inspection this afternoon, I noticed what looks like a small crack in the cover, right near the bolster. I know wood will often have slight imperfections, but I'm curious of your thoughts about this. Honestly, I do not want to send it back for replacement unless y'all think it's necessary. If it's just a cosmetic flaw that won't get any worse, it's gonna be my new EDC.

Your thoughts, please?

I'm no expert but that just looks like differences in the grain.

I have a few ebony knives that look similar.

If it's just going to be a user then I'd just enjoy it and use it. If by some chance it ends up being an actual crack and it got bigger then you know GEC will make it right for you. :)

Took the words right out of my mouth.

Thanks for the responses. As echoed above, it doesn't look like it'll ever be an issue, and I know GEC would take care of me if it did. Into my pocket it'll go.

Good decision, That Ebony is beautiful and if it were my knife I would do exactly the same.

If it were my knife I would fill the check with super glue. If you get sloppy on the wood you should be able to clean it up with a scotch bright after it dries.

It looks like a natural gap in the wood grain, but I'd keep an eye on it in case it cracks out farther. If the wood dries out more and shrinks as it ages, it could be a problem.
