Man, if I would have won, which i did enter, I would be thrilled to keep it. I think that adds to the "special" factor. It's very surprising to me.

I feel the same way, especially had I been caught up in getting it from Mr.Hinderer at blade, no way you could get me to turn it over.
I'm unusually attached to the two I have now :)

Today, I have seen a couple for sale, and, well....are being sold for a premium. About double actually.

Purchasing these knives from Mr. Hinderer and immediately turning them for 2-3x the original price skirts an unethical line and is a disservice to this hobby. Scalping will only encourage manufactures who are solely focused on the bottom line to raise their prices as well. If the manufacture foregoes this game of arbitrage then they sit by and watch third parties reap twice their profits with little to no overhead. This is really no different than manufacturing, selling, and purchasing counterfeits or perhaps facilitating a tulip mania.

Those of us that enjoy this hobby should discourage this kind of behavior for the benefit of the community.

Been said before (ad naseum) We are NOT going to discuss pricing, dealer practices, the secondary market, what happens after someone buys a knife, counterfeits...
and I am sure as hell not going to sit around and try and decipher some cryptic post and try and determine IF Rick and Rob's business model is being critiqued.
I hope everyone who was fortunate enough to attend (and enjoy) Blade will share pics and stories and tell of their enjoyment.
This thread and any like it are.....
