Possible Morseth?

I've got a nicely made sheath knife that is supposed to be a Morseth. The problem is that the knife has no markings on it. The sheath has MORSETH CLINTON,WASH. on it and fits the knife perfectly, but that could be coincidence. Here's the PhotoPoint address for an image: http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=414191&a=3054182&f=0

Is there any way to tell if this knife is authentic?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike. Email AG Russell. He owns Morseth now but I believe he was friends with the original Morseth's and knows the history.

Thanks, Dave. I'll take the knife to Blade and look for him there.

PS How're the boys?

That's really a nice looking knife. Not wild about the butt end of the handle, but otherwise it is apparent that the maker knew his way around a deer's innards.

I've heard of Morseth's but that is about it. Was it a manufacturing outfit or customs? Is there a good resource to learn about them? I'd sure like to see some more.

Thanks, if anyone can point me somewhere,

Yup...looks like a Morseth to me....most definitely a Morseth sheath too. Odd that the blade is not marked. But the profile is a Morseth all the way.

Here's some more information that I got at the Blade show.

The sheath is a Morseth sheath.

The knife was not done by Morseth, but if not a "kit" knife it was done by someone that could make a knife that looks just like an original.

While not an original Morseth it certainly makes the knife interesting.

Puzzel solved.
