I don't know if this is worth mentioning, or if somebody already dealt with it but:
I just came across a listing on e-bay where they're selling:
"Himalayan Imports Khukuri - 22 Ganga Ram - Custom Bowie
Item number: 6585321702"
They speak nicely of it, & end with
"High Quality Khukuri, guaranteed for life by the folks at Himlayan Imports. Priced to sell, thanks."

They're also selling a Cherokee Rose saying, "HI guarantees their Bowies and Khukuries for life."

Just wondering if there is a problem, with others promoting sale of their Khuks by referring to HI's guarantee to original purchasers ?

I assume this wouldn't be a problem in buying gifts for people (i.e. the warranty could be extended to them rather than the person making the purchase)?

I ask as it has become the trend to make a khukuri the present of choice for team occasions; (30th Birthday, wedding etc) and I would assume that with the gift goes the guarantee?

I didn't see the cherokee rose bowie. Can you list the item number. I'd like to bid on that one. I'm not too worried about the warranty issue since I think the knife will last for generations anyway. Kinda misleading though. GREAT looking GRS!!!! I love HI knives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:o

I don't know of any dealer relationships with H.I.....?

Why would this be a problem? He bought it, and he's advertising the facts, right? IMO, there's only a prob. if he's being dishonest.

The only problem is that the buyer would be expecting HI to guarantee it. The guarantee only applies to the original purchaser. Other than that, no problem.:)

Oh. Thanks for the info.

I asked Yangdu this morning about this; she said if you buy a HI khukuri for a gift, the person who recieves the gift has the warranty. So, there are two circumstances for a HI warranty; the original purchaser and a person recieving an HI khuk as a gift.

That's brilliant news :D I only hope my mate's new wife likes the wedding gift (18" AK) as much as he will ;)
