There is a possible contact that I have made that is casting (one does not forge bronze that I have heard about) Mycenaean Era Greek swords and daggers (think Trojan War). Albion makes a couple, but not the long, thin rapier in which I have long been interested. I believe that particular one to be one of the handsomest swords that I have ever seen.* In any case, if the contact works out and if he is game to take on any more commissions, is there any interest here?

* Please see the sword in this picture for some idea of what it is over which I am rhapsodizing (obviously, I would find something besides gold for my hilt): http://oncampus.richmond.edu/academics/classics/photos/photodb/Beasom/MycSword.jpg

Yes, they are.

My contact point is a person over at SwordForums who is having a bronze Mycenaean dagger being made by another felllow and he says that this fellow is willing to make others and to do so for other folks. I am sending him an email today to check on this, on his prices, and on other details. If there is interest, I'll post them.

Im sure barry will be interested but I havent seen him in a few weeks (well since before christmas)....

fer me, if it wuz over 500 bux that might keep me out. I'd want a relatively plain one so's I could chisel and etch it.

I prefer the old danish find ones, a bit wider at the rivets and slightly leaf shaped going towards the point. maybe just not as long and narrow.

Gotta see pix of that commissioned piece!
