This may be of use to some of you who have expressed interest in "custom" alloys.

I found a fax on the machine at work this morning for a place called "All Metals & Forge" offering various ferrous and non-ferrous metals. They claim to be able to supply custom vacuum melted alloy ingots in quantities as small as 25lb. The ingots can then be processed into plates, bars, tubes, etc. with a minimum quantity of 250lb. They also have forging facilities. Standard steel alloys, in various shapes and sizes are on offer also. I was able to find 1080, 440C, 300 series SS, etc. There were also a large number of "brand name" alloys that I did not recognise. Non-ferrous metals offered include aluminum, copper and titanium in various grades and alloys.

Their contact details are: (ph) 973 276 5000, www.steelforge.com

Neither I or my employer have any relationship with this company.
