(Possibly) nitpicky question about serial numbers

Say I get an ESEE-3 MIL (for example) and it's serial number is 1210. Is that number 1210 of all ESEE-3 MILs or all ESEE-3s or all RC-3/ESEE-3/ESEE-3MILs?

Does color matter? Blade style (Plain-Edge, Serrated, Clip Point)? Are there 1210 black blade knives and a separate 1210 OD Greens? Is it the same for 4s, 5s, 6s and Izulas?

You know you're a collector when you think it might even matter. I'm suspecting all knives of any given blade size (3s, 6s, Izulas) are serially numbered regardless of blade style or color, but I figured I'd ask.

Best Regards,
SP

Every 3-MIL from the beginning, even the RAT Cutlery ones, were serialized from the beginning. Each serial number was for one knife regardless of style. Same with all Izulas. When we changed the name to ESEE Knives then we started serializing the 3, 4, etc. But again, that serial number is consecutive regardless of the color of the knife, etc.

Except for the HEST, arrowhead and the Lite Machete, all ESEE Knives have a serial number.

Hey Jeff,

Out of curiosity, do you know how many total Junglas' have been produced? I'm just wondering where my number stands.

Ok, serial # 917 was engraved a few miniutes ago according to Shon. Actual number of Junglas sold since the beginning is 1050 (obviously some are waiting on the line to get to engraving) then will be shipped.

That's pretty amazing =)

But not quite as amazing as the over 16,000 Izula's you've produced!!

I have #912. It's just a baby, only had its number for a short time. But it already killed a few trees.
