man, beautiful stuff in my opinion

now, i want to see some good looking pictures...

My favorite handle material? I have two.

First is amboyna burl.

A damn close second is stone.

The amboyna is real warm even to the touch while the stone is as cool as a cucumber. Makes a huge difference in the way the knife feels in your hand.

One day I will make an amboyna handle with the stone as spacers and see how that feels and looks.:D

G10 ! just because it's light as heck and grinds so easily. Serves it's purpose wonderfully. I like Thuya, Ironwood and Snakewood (Tom's use some nice snakewood on his folders, really beautiful Tom) for fancier stuff though. Linen Micarta always does the trick too, just a pain in the ass to grind and the fumes STINK ! :D Hey Kit ! those are sweet looking !, infact all the knives here are really beautiful. Great work fellas.....RDT

Mike,
We are on the same page. :)

This is just a very simple traditional 4" drop point with catclaw on the handle.

As Mike can attest, there is not one drop of stain on this wood at all. The only finish applied in this instance was Minwax Wood Hardener. This wood was taken from a tree close to Del Rio, Texas.
The tree was mostly eaten out or rotted in the center and this part was close to the root. I may be wrong but I don't think it would be available "off the shelf".

Here's a pair of matchbook scales I cut from the same tree:
