It was brought to my attention that the Knifemaker's memberships & Platinum memberships were lopsided with regards to photos & private messaging, so I've brought them in line with each other. That said, we've recently instituted a price increase for KnifeMaker's memberships and as a result, they are higher than Platinum members.

Many of you signed on as Platinum members for the increase in PM's and other benefits that came with the higher level of membership. Those benefits are now mirrored across the KnifeMaker membership. With that in mind, there is no reason for us to continue to offer posting access to the KnifeMaker's forums for Platinum members. If you are a KnifeMaker, from this point forward you need to have a KnifeMaker's paid subscription if you want access to the premium content in the KnifeMaker's forums; Platinum memberships will no longer be able to post items for sale in the KnifeMaker's For Sale area, or access "Around the Grinder"

If you have a platinum membership and need it switched to a KnifeMaker's membership, let me know

Spark,

Please switch my membership back to knifemaker.

Thanks for your attention to this matter.

PS, I posted in my original thread BEFORE being aware of this thread.

I am certainly not the maker Ken, Todd or anyone that has already made some for that matter, but I am getting equipment and getting set up to start the journey. Please switch mine to knifemaker. I currently have the Preminum Plat. PG ratings.
Thank You,
Jim

Spark,

Can I get this changed - can't post anything for sale right now......:grumpy:

I may have something to list? :p

I know you are busy - and all you do for us is appreciated.

Thanks!

Todd Davison

You guys are all changed over, update your membership displays accordingly

I am wondering how this effects the previous discussion and sales of knife making supplies.

I curious as to what I need to do when it comes time for me to renew my membership. I had assumed there was going to be a wider change coming for these various memberships. . . Of course the more immediate concern is if I am to be considered a maker and wonder if the knifemaker membership would be sufficient for me to sell in the "knifemaking supplies and tools" area again. If so, please do change me to knifemaker. Otherwise please let me know where to go from here.

Thanks again and best regards,

-Todd

Step one is restricting access to the appropriate level of membership. Step 2 is implementing the membership changes, including new levels for craftsmen & suppliers.

Thank you. Is there a general time frame?

Please change me to knifemaker in the meantime, as I have a knife or two to sell just now.

It was nice being an incognito, passively platinum knifemaker. Please make me orange so that I may stick out like a sore thumb. Thanks? ;)

I am not making knives at the present time but am doing a kit kinfe now and after a few kits I do intend on making a few knives,,,sp perhaps it might best to get my membership changed as well if you will, thanks for your time

So ... us mere Platinum types will soon be unable to kibbitz in "around the grinder?":(

Rats. I shall miss hanging out there occasionally, where I'm absolutely certain no one ever mistook me for a knifemaker.

Just another physicist.:)

All switched, update accordingly when you feel like it.

Spark,
I have been meaning to ask you a question.
When I became a member, the name "bladesmith" was taken. However, it has not been active for years, as far as I can tell. Is it possible for me to assume the forum name "bladesmith"?
