I thought it would be fun to have some pics of colored alox knives all in one place - HERE! ..... Old ..... new ..... beat to crap ..... safe queens ..... whatever ya got, let's see it!

I only have one - this blue farmer ..... sorry for the lousy pic - I know you guys can do better! ;)

Hope you folks aren't tired of seeing my old Pioneer. I'm guessing it was given to me by my parents in the mid to late 70's or maybe early 80's. My first alox and the only knife I carried for a period of time. I have other alox SAK's now, but I like the look of what time and use has done to this one. I filed some burrs off, filed the driver blades, sharpened it up and it still works great. I've retired it for sentimental reasons, but get it out to play with now and then.

Not tired at all of seeing that! :thumbup: I too like the looks of a well used colored alox knife. In fact, I'm thinking of buying a Red Pioneer myself, and am having a hard time deciding if I want a new one or a nice used one. Probably go with a new one - there's something to be said for adding your own character to a knife, rather than buying someone else's hard earned character! ;)

I always carried my knife in my left jeans pocket and it shared space with my lighter and coins. If you do that and abuse the knife and use it as a hammer occasionally you'll get that look in a few years. I quit smoking a few years back and carry a credit card and rarely have coins now. I switched to cargo pants, so it's getting harder to beat up a knife. Another funny thing about getting older, I don't use a knife as hard as I did in my twenties either. :)

LOL! That's a great lookin' knife, Johnny. I hear ya on the getting older and being easier on a knife, too - I'm thinking if I get one I may have to throw some rocks in my pocket with it, just to speed up the process! ;)
 
Red alox SAKs: Cadet, Pioneer, Pioneer Rancher. I have two more, but those are duplicates of the Pioneer and Pioneer Rancher and in my EDC rotation.

It is becoming clear to me that I am going to have to collect these. I have several Farmers and a few other Alox flavors, and just ordered a Pioneer thanks to Johnny. Maybe I'll beat it with a hammer to make it look like his. :thumbup: Am waiting also on an Alox Classic.

Buy two and carry in the same pocket, you can wear them both out at the same time. :D

I just bought this Red Cadet from the local Target store. You are so right: classic red sak color + alox = perfection! I'm really lookin' forward to that Red Pioneer now! ;)

Great colors! And yes, red is a classic color for SAKs. Silver is too, after all, that's the color of both the Victorinox Soldier and Wenger SI.
