Well, lets see what you got!

What is the "pan" in the first pic? Is that cast iron? I've had some success with shredded potatoes as a sub for flour in a dutch oven. Got to watch it though. It burns easily.

The pan is the little dish that comes with "Zebra Billy pots". It is made of heavy gauge stainless steel. Shredded potatoes, eh? hum. I'm thinking cheese, meat of some sort (bacon?), and some shredded potatoes!

Sounds like your on the right track.

You can experiment with adding some egg and milk. I prefer it a little more moist and fluffy than the basic bannock recipe.

And putting things like meat and cheese inside it comes out great too.

I make burger bannock by putting a rare cooked burger pattie in side before cooking. Bacon cheese burger bannock. Bacon and cheese bannock for breakfast. Ive done cranberry walnut bannock. Both of my daughters favorites are chocolate chip bannock.

Here is one with a ground pork burger, cheese and tomatoes inside it.

Wow! Thanks! That look great!

They all look delicious. Once had the opportunity to try Navajo Frybread in Utah, the stuff is absolutely delicious and I understand it is a variant of Bannock.

Bannock is good.

Run of the mill bannock.

Specialty bannocks.

Wild scallion picked in camp with pepperoni.

Partridge berry bannock. Probably the only time such a spectacle has been captured on film.

Date bannock.

Could you post your recipes of the photos?

Also please could folk post the plain and simple basic bannock recipes?
For those that do not know

Simple recipes of basic (dry pack - light) survival items such as the ingredients of bannock, have both historic roots and a basis in today's interest in survival. A plus is that involving kids camping and introduction to self-sufficiency can engage the young in the use of knives, tools, pack, cooking, physical health ... and can empower young people with the basics. Build the next generation of capable individuals. My take is that food (for where do you go or stay without food?) is so basic that I would like to know how to search for 'food, recipes, wild edibles, cooking methods, potable water, water purification ... and lots more relevant to food. I am sure that there is a function of posting that could earmark related topics for an intelligent search ... but I am unaware of this capacity. Could a moderator explain how these related items could be posted so that they may be readily searched?

Dutch Oven bannock. This recipe used buttermilk for the liquid, bacon grease for the fat. Came out perfect, with a 30 min cook time. I used briquettes for this one.

In the north here it's still a staple for the Indians, that never went away. I've had numerous variations and most northerners use whatever is at hand. There is the heavy dense gut bomb oven bannock and many variations of fried. Use eggs and baking powder for light fluffy fried bannock. Cut unfried dough into triangles then put two-three slits in each piece of raw dough, then set into the hot oil or grease. It cooks better that way. Put whatever you want in it, the Indians do. Toss in some raisins or whatever. I have always seen it prepared in a large bowl. Flour with baking powder, make a center hole, pour in milk and or eggs, hand mix, toss in raisins, kneed a bit, flatten out, cut into aprox one inch thick pieces, cut slits in pieces, fry. If done properly you come out with warm tasty super light and fluffy bread. If you bugger it up, experiment with the next batch. it's just bread.
