Inspired by an attempt last year to do this to a BM 750 (it worked but there were machining marks beneath the beadblast finish) and by the modified 630 in another post yesterday...

I have never been a fan of beadblasted Titanium finishes - so using Micro-mesh wet sandpaper and starting with 150 and moving all the way to 1200, my Sebenza now has a very smooth and comfortable feel to it and no longer gets scuffed or marked up at the slightest touch. The edges also get more highly polished giving it a pocket worn feel. I love it. :D

these are fairly large pics

I took a dremel and did a slow grind to get all the lazer marks off the hilt and tang, I left the lock part of the tang alone.

nice work on the sebbie handles. CRK's factory blast is a bit rough, I'd say - wish they went with higher grit glass bead / ceramic blasting, instead of the 80 grit aluoxide blast.

where do you get the micromesh paper?

eBay is where I found mine. I bought a kit that went from 100MX to 1200MX

G'day,
I didn't like the stonewashed blade on my small sebenza so I polished the hollow grind to a dull sheen with 180, 400, and 800 grit wet-and-dry. To add to the thickness and make it fit my hand better I added Australian Silky Oak scales. I don't use the clip so the scales cover the whole obverse side as well as the front.

Nice work!

Customizing knives can be an addicting, expensive and fun niche hobby within a hobby.

Here are a few I've done, several more can be seen at my web page.

A while back I took sandpaper to my 710HS to remove the BT2 coating. I didn't remove all of it because I got to the following look and stopped because I really liked the sortof 'antique', rough look. I did the same thing to the pocket clip, and have been wanting to do something in regards to the scales, but don't really yet know what that will be.
