Post a photo of your oldest, or first, JK Knife. I know tknife has the first Hiker`s Backup I ever made, and C Bryant has the first Pocket Kephart, and wanted to see some of the others. Who knows, they might make a comeback. :D

Hopefully you can get it turned around John, it would be a shame to see you stop making knives. I haven't been around much lately and the knife bug as cooled on me a bit lately but one thing is sure is I still love my JK blades that I have. I've sold a number of blades lately but the Scout Jr, Kephart and my neckmuk are here to stay, they are some of my favorite blades. Hang in there John, you're one of the good guys:thumbup:

Here is my Ewok with 1095 steel, hollow pins, and tiger strip maple. It was my first custom knife and my first JK. I just cleaned it since I guess last time I put some linseed oil I forgot to wipe it off leaving crud everywhere. Need to touch it up too.

Hi John -

My oldest JK is my Kephart -

Here is a picture from when it was brand new.

I think that mine was the first tin Knife you made with scales. I may be wrong of course. That is my oldest and my EWOK is slightly younger.

Your early Nessmucks are the knives that first grabbed my attention though.

My first JK, a kephart with micarta liners and oak handle. I gifted it to my older son's Marine Corps buddy. The look on his face was priceless. I think a knife as a gift is truly one of the best gifts anyone can receive, although I may be a bit biased.

That was about the 4th Kephart I did, and the first with liners. First was Jim, then Reuben, then Jake, then you.

Yes it was Reuben and his pics that caused me to get it. Great knife that I used hard and it served well. Now it is serving in the Marines.

Here is my one and only JK, and I really like it. It's a hiker model, and I think the steel is O1.

This is my first JK Handmade knife. John was kind enough to create the knife to my design specs and likes it enough to add the design to his 2011 Catalog. THANK YOU JOHN!

John provided this photo when he finished the knife and I will be creating more images of it myself and will post them here. This knife is incredibly beefy and inspires confidence that it can withstand severe use and could even be used as a sharpened pry bar, if you had to. Feels awesome in the hand and carries nicely in the pocket.

7" overall length. 3" blade, the full length tang is 3/16" thick!

Fixed the thickness for you, you wanted a "chubby one." Looking forward to seeing those photos, the ones you sent me of the guns were incredible! Feel to post some here.

Here's my trusty EDC and tin knife.

Saw a pic on a thread in the wilderness forum, inquired on the model and maker and the rest is history.

The Hiker started my JK addiction and it is still one of my favorite woodsbumming blades.

That is a very early Hiker. Notice the K on the bottom, and no liner on the lanyard hole. My guess is it`s one of the first 5 I made, Also, the handles were made from garolite, a form of micarta.

Great knife! I almost went with one of the models John produces, but I figured if I was getting a custom, why not design it from front to back!

This JK Hiker XL was my first from John....still use it, still love it.....thanks John !
