I dont know if you would call this a "mod" but here is what I did to my BK9 Sheath... I really hate dangles or low riding sheaths... to me its just uncomfortable, I like the blades to carry high and tight with a slight cant away from my hip. The only exclusion to this rule is how I carry the BK15 and standard KABAR 1211. So I took the top of the sheath folded it down, then used paracord to do a wrap. The cool thing is that it is totally reversible, and gives you cordage with your knife if needed. Not pictured is the cordage wrapped in the back with a toggle to allow you to lash it to your thigh. When the BK9 was hung longer it really felt uncomfortable and heavy... but after the mod it rides good and does not feel as heavy. Used a hair tie to give the snap some tension so that once opened the snaps get out of the way. These are some older pics, but will have to get some new ones to better show what is going on.
