Posted this in the gallery, but I need some advice before I can call it finished

Here are a couple pics of the new model I posted in the gallery. My question is whether or not you guys think the finger guard is too flat and sharp cornered. Does it seem unfinished because it's so square looking? Do you guys think I should contour it some?

Just looking for some opinions because something about it doesn't feel quite right to me but I'm not sure how I should change it......

I would like it better if the front of the scales tapered a bit, and there was a notch in front of the guard.

Yeah, I thought about the notch Brian. I wonder how many needle files I would wear out trying to do that now that it's hardened.....:D

Also, it doesn't show in these pics but the fronts are tapered. Not quite as much as the rear but they are. It doesn't feel too large in the hand.

I would sand out the file mark then sand the edges of your finger guard just enough to remove any sharp edges.
Looking good otherwise

I use a lot of chainsaw files. Available down to 1/8". They don't last forever but usually come in 2 packs.

I agree, it needs a choil.[my opinion only] The rest looks good to me. Nice pattern.

The small Chainsaw blade sharpeners for a Dremel will take care of it. I think it looks good, it is definitely a different look. My initial feeling would be to remove it entirely, but then that would just be like all the other knives! Jigged bone looks great!

I like it better with out a notch in front of the finger guard.

You could tape that blade up nice and tight against the handle and just knock the edge off the front of those handle scales by hand. Nothing extreme, just a bit rounder right at the corner would change the character of the scales to my eye. A soft sanding block would probably work.

Looks great as is, but I can see what has you concerned.

Nice knife. Extend the bottom edge of the blade backwards? Did you flare or chamfer the pins. Thanks for posting.
