Posting PDF docs

I wanted to incorporate a couple of PDF documents in a post and managed to do that, as attachments. But I later found that while you didn't have to be logged into BF to read my post, you did in order to read the PDFs.

Is there a way to post PDFs, whether as attachments or otherwise incorporated into a post, so that anyone---logged in or not---can read them?

Thanks,

Andrew

I don’t believe so. In most forums attachments can’t be seen unless you’re signed in.

If the PDFs are just a page or two, you could screenshot them, crop and then upload to Imgur and post it as a photo. Multiple pages would be quite time consuming.

Test.

I uploaded this straight from my computer and logged out and could only see a tiny thumbnail. If I clicked the thumbnail I needed to log in to see the attachment.

Imgur or another hosting site should work.

When I want to share steel datasheets I link them from the source. You can link your PDFs from the source in your post or upload them to a site and link them that way.

The one issue with PDFs is they can contain exploits though. So please virus scan them prior to uploading them.
