I've seen a number of people post their full names, emails, phone numbers, and even mailing addresses in their profiles under "Profile Posts", where anyone with a membership can see it. That can't be a very safe practice. Part of me wants to message them and say "Hey do you realize what you are doing", but at the same time, I don't want it to be taken as some kind of a threat. Or is it better to mention it to a Moderator so they can say message them with a "Hey FYI, that's not a good idea", or should I just leave it alone, and hope that someone doesn't commit some kind of fraud against these people?

Thanks.

On that note i also found it strange 'Recent Profile posts' is a widget on the home page sidebar?
I'm not sure if there was a reason to further publicize profile posts?
or just that a web dev stuck that in there to fill space without really thinking about it.

For members you know, like, are familiar with etc a friendly message couldn't hurt.

I wouldn't burden the mods with this as they have enough on their plate.

If someone wants to post their personal details, that is up to them. Do not bother the mods about that. Members are expected to be responsible adults. The mods are not the members' parents.

The mods may step in if someone posts another person's personal data, depending on the reason for such a post.
