Hello all!
First, I'll tell you I"m probably one of the most technologically challenged people you will encounter. A few years ago my son-in-law taught me how to post pictures to this site and I did so several times. I've gotten rusty because I've not posted pics in quite some time so I've decided to brush up a bit. At that time I could post directly to the site with no photo-hosting such as flickr or imgur. Has that changed? It appears a hosting site is now required.
Thanks for your help,
Rick

You're a Gold member so you can post directly from your phone or computer.

Just click Upload a File, then find the pic and upload it. You'll have the option to select thumbnail or full size, I always go for the latter.

Here's a screenshot to show what I'm talking about.

Edit to add: Hosting sites still work just fine. Many people use Imgur. Some folks with paid memberships still prefer that method FWIW.

In addition to what benchwarmer380 said, just be aware that you may encounter an error notice if the file size is too large. I reduce the size of my camera images in Paint (on desktop), and have recently installed Lit Photo on my phone.

I still use Imgur on my desktop, sometimes... never on my phone because they no longer support mobile use except via their app (which I've tried, disliked, and uninstalled 3-4 times)

I was cruising along posting pictures directly from my iPad using the Image Size app. Then after installing a software update (iOS 13..), it all quit working. The app provider said there was no problem with his app. Apple says it’s not their problem. Anyway, I had an old iPad that can’t run anything higher than iOS 9.3.6. It can post pictures just fine. So I just run 2 iPads at the same time.

FYI, the file size limit for direct upload seems to be 500k.
