Posting Pictures

To anyone that can help.

When I post pics, it always comes up as a series of small attachment thumbnails at the bottom of my post. However, most other members post large pics that aren't in this attachment format.
Obviously my posting-fu is damn weak. Can anyone enlighten me on how to do this? Or is it one of the secret "dark arts"?

PS I did try searching/googling this topic, no luck. I guess that fu is weak too
